The visual description: Avenul de sub Varful Grind

This film was presented in the eighth Speleo Film Festival that took place in Ogulin, Croatia, from 23 to 25.11.2018. It entered the "Best 10" movies. It is the first romanian caving film that was present in the festival.

De asemenea, adresam calde multumiri prietenului nostru Vlad Pieptu, care a revenit in tabara de anul acesta cu un entuziasm fantastic.

Au fost explorate si topografiate segmente ce cumuleaza 210 metri.
S-a atins cota -390m in pasajul "Himalaya 2", pasaj pe care am reusit sa il extindem si in partea superioara cu un segment, catre capul putului Himalaya, printr-o traversare la cota - 205 din putul principal, Himalaya.

In prezent avenul are o dezvoltare de 1160m, denivelarea si extensia in plan ramanand aceleasi.

Grind Caving Camp 2018 rigging camp

Visiting Romania's most alpine vertical cave is a dream of many cavers. During Balkan Cavers Camp 2018 we found that many people asked when we do a Grind "open days". So, here you have it.

This camp will take place between 1.09.2018 and 8.09.2018.

There are three kinds of activities:

1. Materials transport between Poiana Grind and cavers shelter in the first day of the camp. Aprox. time between these points is 3h with a small coffee break at Grind touristic shelter.

2. Rigging team(s)
The entire cave will be rigged. We are talking about 800 meters of ropes and 150 bolt hangers...

3. Photographic team
There are some iconic segments that needs good pictures: Water Shaft, Himalaya Shaft etc.

Important: Due to the conditions of the camp, the camp is limited to 14 participants. The organizer have reserved the right to chose the participants.

Organizers: Speleological Association “Focul Viu” with the support of Piatra Craiului National Park.

Place:  Piatra Craiului Mountain, National Park;

Base camp: tents near cavers shelter Grind (1868m);

Advanced base camp: cavers shelter Grind (1873m);

Cave: Avenul de sub Vf.Grind (-544m, entrance at 1920m).

Targets:

•    Rigging the entire cave;

•    Photo sessions on most representatives segments;

•    Installing the bivouac tent;

•    Checking radio connections;

•    Cave greening.

Period: between the 1st and the 8th of September 2018.

Access:
By foot
•    From Brasov till Zarnesti, hiking trail with red cross mark through Prapastiile Zarnestiului gorge until the point “La Table”. From “La Table” hiking trail red line until touristic hut Refugiul Grind.
By car: Sirnea village - Poiana Grind

Requirements for underground participants:

•    SRT rigging techniques;

•    Sending the registration form until 30.08.2018;

•    Full caving and SRT equipment;

•    At least 2 survival blankets;

•    Minimum 18 years old;

•    Equipment for mountain and bivouac for 7 days;

•    Caving insurance;

•    Medical certificate that proves you are fit for “caving activities”.

Requirements for outside participants:

•    Sending the registration form until 30.08.2018;

•    Equipment for mountain and bivouac for 7 days;

•    At least 14 years old;

•    Official certificate from parents for the participants under 18 year old;

Accomodation: in the speleological shelter "Coltii Grindului" or in tent (provided). Sleeping bags and mattress are needed.

Food: self catering, the stove is provided.

The collective caving equipment (ropes, bolts etc.) and bivouac tent will be provided by Speleological Association Focul Viu.

Vizitarea celui mai alpin aven al României este un vis al multor speologi. În timpul reuniunii Balkan Caver's Camp din 2018 multi colegi din tara ne-au intrebat cand facem un "open days". Deci, iata.

Aceasta tabara va avea loc între 1.09.2018 si 8.09.2018.

Exista trei tipuri de activitati:

1. Transportul materialelor între Poiana Grind ?i refugiul speologic Grind în prima zi a taberei. Timpul aproximativ între aceste puncte este de 3 ore cu o pauza de cafea la refugiul turistic Grind.

2. Echipa (echipele) de echipare

Întreaga cavitate va fi echipata. Vorbim despre 850 de metri de corzi si 150 de placute ...

3. Echipa foto

Exista câteva segmente emblematice ce au nevoie de imagini bune: Water Shaft, Himalaya Shaft etc.

Completati formularul de înregistrare daca doriti sa va înscrieti la tabara.

Important: Datorita conditiilor din sit, tabara este limitata la 14 participanti. Organizatorul isi rezerva dreptul de a alege participantii.


Organizatori: Asociatia Speleologica "Focul Viu" cu sprijinul Parcului National Piatra Craiului.

Locul: Masivul Piatra Craiului, Parcul National Piatra Craiului;

Tabara de baza: corturi în apropierea refugiului speologic Grind (1868m);

Tabara de baza avansata: refugiul speologic Grind (1873m);

Cavitatea: Avenul de sub Vf.Grind (-544m, intrare la 1920m).

Obiective:

• Echiparea întregii cavitati;

• Sesiuni foto pe majoritatea segmentelor reprezentative;

• Instalarea cortului de bivuac;

• Verificarea conexiunilor radio;

• Ecologizarea pesterii.

Perioada: între 1 si 8 septembrie 2018.

Acces:
Pe jos
 • De la Brasov pâna la Zarnesti, traseu de drumetie cruce rosie prin pragul Prapastiile din Zarnesti pâna la punctul "La Table". De la"La Table" banda rosie pâna la refugiul turistic Grind.
Cu masina:
satul Sirnea - Poiana Grind - Refugiul Turistic Grind - Refugiul Speologic Grind.

Conditii de participare în subteran:
•    minim cunostinte echivalente nivelului tehnic TSA1, prioritate cei cu TSA2;
•    Trimiterea formularului de înscriere la adresa organizatorului pâna la data de 30.08.2018;
•    Echipament speologic individual complet;
•    Minim doua folii de supravietuire;
•    Vârsta minima 18 ani;
•    Echipament montan si de bivuac pentru 7 zile;
•    Asigurare de accidente pentru speologie valabila pe perioada desfasurarii taberei;
•    Adeverinta medicala pentru practicarea speologiei.

Conditii de participare la suprafata:
•    Trimiterea formularului de înscriere pâna la data de 30.08.2018;
•    Echipament montan si de bivuac adecvat;
•    Vârsta minima 14 ani;
•    Declaratie de accept al tutorilor legali pentru participantii sub 18 ani, legalizata la notariat;

Cazarea: In refugiul speologic Grind sau in corturi. Necesari saci de dormit, izoprene.

Masa: autogospodarire, se asigura aragaz.

Echipamentul colectiv este asigurat de Asociatia Speologica Focul Viu.

Grind Caving Camp 2018 exploration camp

This is the 7th exploration camp organized by us in this alpine vertical cave, Avenul de sub Varful Grind (-544m, 950m).

This year, the exploration camp will take place between 8.09.2018 and 16.09.2018.

There are three kinds of activities:

1. Materials transport between cavers shelter and Poiana Grind in the last day of the camp. Aprox. time between these points is: 3h. (The cave should be already rigged in the previous camp that starts on 1st of September).

2. Support
The cavers that will work underground for several hours or days will need when they’ll get outside hot food, water, accu charges etc.

3. Underground team member
The teams that will enter in the cave will rigg, survey, climb and they will evacuate outside the trash found on several places from the old expeditions. We are also trying to push through the new passages discovered in 2017 expedition. (see the attached map).

•    Surveying the canyon that starts at the bottom of Water Shaft, climbed in 2016 by Fabian Botond and Alexandru Pologea;
•    Pushing further in the new passage explored in 2017, Himalaya 2;
•    Checking other "question marks";
•    Continuing the digging at the actual terminus;
•    Cave greening.

Period: between 8 and 16.09.2018

Access:
By foot
•    From Brasov till Zărneşti, hiking trail with red cross mark through Prăpăstiile Zărneştiului gorge until the point “La Table”. From “La Table” hiking trail red line until touristic hut Refugiul Grind. From there, unmarked trail until cavers shelter.

By car: Sirnea village - Poiana Grind

•    Our meeting point will be in the center of Sirnea Village at 10:00 Saturday, 08.09.2018

Requirements for underground participants:
